What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is brain exercise. We observe your brain in action from moment to moment by monitoring your brain waves. We show you your brain activity and we help you to change it by rewarding shifts toward a more appropriate and stable brain state. It is a gradual learning process. Neurofeedback is also called EEG biofeedback. The electroencephalogram (EEG) is another name for the brain wave recordings and, in this context, biofeedback refers to the process by which you learn to change your brain waves and thereby gain better control over your brain states.

Effective for Clinical Disorders and Peak Performance Training

Neurofeedback has been found to be effective in the treatment of a number of clinical disorders, such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD), obsessive-compulsive disorder, seizures, and substance abuse. The benefits of neurofeedback have also been found useful in peak performance training. These benefits include improving attention/ concentration, imagery, arousal level, and decreasing worry and rumination.

The combination of cognitive, emotional, and psychophysiological benefits from neurofeedback results in improved performance. Due to individual differences in brain activity, as well as the large diversity of skills required in different sports, neurofeedback for performance training is not a “one size fits all” approach.

In order to obtain optimal results, neurofeedback for peak performance training begins with appropriate assessment and evaluation of an individual's brain wave (electro-encephalographic) activity. Individualised training plans are based upon the assessment findings and the specific needs of the targeted sport or activity.

How is Neurofeedback Done?

Sensors are attached to the scalp with EEG paste which then pick up brain waves. It is painless and does not involve the application of any voltage or current to the brain, so it is entirely non-invasive.  A computer processes the brain waves and extracts certain information from them. We show you the ebb and flow of your brain waves, and the specific information we obtain from them, in the form of a video game. The specific brain wave frequencies we reward and the sensor locations on the scalp are unique to each individual.

Testimonials of the Day

My son has ADHD and has been seeing Amy past few months. Amy is able to help calm him down and worked on protocols that helps to calm him, helps him focus and gives him emotional balance. She listens to my son’s condition and tweaks the protocols weekly to achieve inspiring results. For anyone not keen to go into medication, neurofeedback is a great alternative without any side effects. She also recommends supplements to assist in the entire process.

Amy is an amazing therapist who listens attentively, and through her years of seeing different patients, is able to heal and provide recovery for many patients. I highly recommend anyone who seeks alternative treatments to give neurofeedback a shot.

I've been receiving neurofeedback therapy with Amy for about 2 months now. When we first started, I didn’t know what to expect but Amy is a warm, caring and patient person who explained and advised us holistically.

I definitely feel more calm, less anxious and negative, and am sleeping better now. The more we engage in this therapy, the more Amy is able to tweak the settings to perfectly suit my needs. She also recommended some supplements that have steadily helped me get better.

I look forward to my every session with Amy and highly recommend anyone who just feel "not 100%", that you should consider neurofeedback therapy and pay Amy a visit.

Neurofeedback has been extremely beneficial for me since I started over a year ago. As someone who suffers from insomnia and anxiety caused by work and emotional stress, the treatment has helped me tremendously.

I am able to fall asleep more naturally and sleep more soundly. My focus is better and more positive in the day.

Amy is very thorough in her assessment and has a strong sense of understanding and compassion with her clients. She is excellent at monitoring my brainwave activity and consequently applies the training protocols effectively.

I am grateful to Amy for her help with my sleep.
